2 Kelvin Lager: The second Jefferson Lab inspired beer by local microbrewer, Oozlefinch Beers & Blending
Inspired by the science being conducted at Jefferson Lab – and more specifically the giant microscope that operates near 2 Kelvin (or -456 Fahrenheit!) – local brewery Oozlefinch Beers and Blending is pleased to announce the release of the aptly named 2 Kelvin Lager. The unfiltered pilsner is made exclusively with German malt and hops, and weighs in at 8.2% ABV. The crisp, clean brew gets its name because lagers are fermented at a much lower temperature than ales – even if it’s not quite as cool as 2 Kelvin!
2 Kelvin Lager is the second Jefferson Lab-inspired beer in the seasonal series developed by Oozlefinch. Strangely Charmed, a hazy IPA, was released late in January 2020. If 2 Kelvin does not sell out before we return to Jefferson Lab, the brew will be served during lab-sanctioned social events on campus.
FOR A (VERY) LIMITED TIME ONLY: Oozlefinch is offering the Jefferson Lab community EXCLUSIVE first rights to purchase 2 Kelvin beginning today, Friday, April 17, at noon until Monday, April 20, at noon. Daily curbside pick-up and beer delivery hours are noon – 8 p.m. Beginning on Monday, April 20, at noon, the beer will be available for purchase by the general public.
**Please note that when checking out, you will be asked to put in your shipping information - this is for billing purposes only. The option for delivery or curbside will appear after this is filled out.
