Completed and signed employee timesheets for the period of December 16-31, 2008 are due to supervisors at the end of the employee's last work day of the timesheet period. Exempt employees who record work time using percentages must enter the work percentages on the last day worked, not the last day of the timesheet period, in order to save and sign the timesheet. Supervisor and project manager approvals on these timesheets are due to Finance by 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 2009.
The Lab shutdown begins Tuesday, December 23rd at 5:00 p.m. The Lab will reopen on Monday, January 5, 2009. December 24, 25, and 31, 2008 and January 1 and 2, 2009 are designated Lab holidays. December 26th, 29th, and 30th are to be taken as vacation days. Employees who do not
have sufficient accrued vacation to cover the required vacation days must take leave without pay. Only those employees who are on approved FMLA, short-term disability, or long-term disability are eligible to charge sick leave during the shutdown. Only those employees who are on
the approved listing of authorized workers "required" to work during the shutdown should have productive hours recorded during this period.
Time Collection Supported Browsers
Many employees have problems when completing timesheets using different versions of the Mozilla browser, specifically versions 1.7.2 and 1.7.3. Correcting timesheets, specifically, cannot be completed using the Mozilla browser. Internet Explorer is the preferred browser.
You can access the web-based Time Collection system from:
Inside JLab - http://misportal.jlab.org/time
JLab Insight Page - Click on Timesheet under the Popular Applications section
Off-site access - http://misportal.jlab.org/time
The JLab Time Collection Manual is also available from the JLab home page under Publications, then Manuals.
Please contact me at ext. 7503 or Sharon Hay at ext. 7620 if you have any questions.
Thank you for your assistance and Happy Holidays.
