Hall A Event

On Tuesday afternoon, April 3, 2007, two Engineering technicians reported that they may have felt a "tingle." The technicians noted that they experienced the sensation while working on a Hall A beam line beam current cavity. There was no injury to the workers. The technicians reported this to their supervisor and extensive system circuit testing promptly started with appropriate safeguards. However, the system is GFCI-protected, preventing a significant electrical shock. An event investigation team started April 4 and the event reported to the DOE occurrence reporting system on April 6. Event followup includes testing of other beam current cavity systems. Preliminary investigation indicated a connector wiring problem. The event investigation report will be posted shortly at http://www.jlab.org/div_dept/dir_off/oa/notable/index.html
