To Staff and Users:
Tonight and for the next few days, most of the local region will experience the first hard freeze this season. Because of the abundant recent rains, there are many places here at Jefferson Lab (and elsewhere) with standing water. These will be ice patches on site in the morning -- especially in shaded areas. Please be mindful of this as you get out of your car and walk across paved areas and during the day until the sun has melted the icy patches. Be alert to places that appear to be damp; they may, in fact, be thin layers of ice. Call Facilities Management to report slick areas, and make use of the sand from the buckets near building entrances.
