Jefferson Lab to Kick off 2015 United Way Campaign with Picnic on Oct. 2

Jefferson Lab’s pledge campaign to support the annual fundraising appeal for the United Way of the Virginia Peninsula kicks off with a picnic on Friday, Oct. 2.

The fundraiser picnic will take place from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. in the CEBAF Center lobby and cafeteria dining area.  Hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, and assorted canned soda and chips will be available for $1 per item to raise money for the United Way, and will be served by Jefferson Lab senior management.  The food is being donated by the Quark Cafe contractor, Eurest.  Additional food and beverage items will be available for regular purchase in Quark Cafe.

The United Way pledge form is linked to this message for your convenience.  All forms should be returned to Krystina Serafini, Mail Stop 12B, CEBAF Center Room B214, by Monday, Nov. 2.

Ticket sales for the annual fundraiser raffle will also begin in the CC lobby on Oct. 2. Raffle tickets will be $1 each and will be sold during the picnic and during lunch time throughout the month of October. Information about this year’s prizes will be available soon.

All proceeds from raffle ticket sales, as well as all picnic donations, will go to the United Way. The winning raffle tickets will be announced at the JAG Tailgate Party on Oct. 28.

Contributions to the United Way help provide critical services and supplies to those in our community who are in need. After-school programs, affordable daycare, transportation for the elderly, hospice care, job training for the disabled and food and shelter are just some of the benefits that result from your donations.
