JLab Traffic & Parking Selective Enforcement

JLab Traffic & Parking Selective Enforcement

Issues brought before the JLab Worker Safety Committee identify concerns shared by many JLab drivers. To help reduce the risks of traffic hazards and damage to personal property JLab security will cite violations of the JLab Traffic Code and write tickets focusing in the following areas:

  1. STOP sign enforcement. Drivers will be cited for not coming to a full and complete stop at each stop sign.
  2. SPEEDING. Speed gun enforcement will be set up on a random basis alternating between the following increased risk traffic locations; the ARC parking lot end of Lawrence Drive, the CEBAF Center parking lot end of Rattely Road, and CEBAF Boulevard on the Accelerator Site in between the CHL and bldg 89.
  3. CONGESTED AREAS. Parking and traffic control around the Counting House and other congested areas will be closely monitored. Vehicles will be cited for blocking building entrances, not parking in marked parking spaces, and driving to fast for the congested conditions.

Consequence of getting a ticket start with formal counseling and could result in suspension of on site driving privileges. (See Section F of the traffic code).
