Lab Community Mourns Death of Colleague, Alexander Sibirtsev
Dear Friends and Colleagues,
I am very sorry to tell you that Alexander Sibirtsev passed away in Winnipeg last week (week of July 20). He was 54 years old.
Alex is survived by his two sons, Stephan and Alexey, who live in Germany. He was very proud of his boys, and spoke of them often.
Alex had just finished a 1-1/2 year appointment at the University of Manitoba, and was about to take up another appointment in Brazil. We all remember him as a gregarious and engaging personality, and a wonderful colleague.
Alex had a number of collaborators from his days at the University of Bonn, Juelich, Jefferson Lab, and the University of Adelaide. Please pass along this message as appropriate to colleagues I might have missed.
Condolences can be sent to his sons:
Alex was affiliated with Jefferson Lab’s Theory and Computational Physics Division.
