May 17 Run-A-Round Reminders

Parking Lot Closures, Event Registration Deadline and Volunteer Information

The 32nd Annual Jefferson Lab Run-A-Round will be held 3-6 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17. JLab staff, users, students, full-time contractors and immediate family members are invited to participate. Participating staff, users and volunteers will receive a free 2017 JLab T-shirt.

Road Closures and Parking Guidance during the Run-A-Round on May 17

On the day of the Run-A-Round, for those who need to leave the lab between 3-4 p.m., the parking lots of the EEL Bldg (Bldg. 90), Test Lab (Bldg. 58) and TED (Bldg. 55) and the accelerator site will be the only lots accessible during the race. If you need to leave early, park in one of these lots and depart the lab via Rattley Road to Hogan Drive.

Parking for the event will be in the main CEBAF Center lot – adjacent to Hadron Drive. Parking for the Run-A-Round isn’t permitted on Hadron Drive or Rattley Road or in the Residence Facility parking lot.

Register for Run-A-Round by 5 p.m. May 16

To be eligible for awards, runners and walkers must register online before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, May 16. Online registration is open on the JAG webpage: http://www.jlab.org/intralab/committees/jag/

Pick up your race bibs on Wednesday, May 17, between 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. in the CEBAF Center atrium.

Late registration will also be available from 9 a.m.-2:30 p.m. on May 17, in the CEBAF Center atrium. Individuals registering the day of the race will not be eligible for overall or age group awards.

Register yourself and your family members, even if you do not plan to compete, so that adequate refreshments can be provided. Also, staff and users may redeem their race bib at the T-shirt Distribution Tent to receive their free 2017 Jefferson Lab T-shirt.

The event begins in front of CEBAF Center at 3 p.m. with the debut of the 2017 Jefferson Lab T-shirt. The run/walk starts promptly at 3:15 p.m. The run covers a flat 1.5 miles course meandering through the campus.  The course map is posted on the JAG website http://www.jlab.org/intralab/committees/jag/.

Food, beverages, music and awards will follow the race. Awards will go to the top three overall male and female finishers and top three male and female finishers in each age group.

Volunteers Needed to Help with Variety of Event Tasks

Volunteer help is needed before, during and after the event to carry out a variety of tasks, including:

  • Morning field setup;
  • Staffing food and beverage tents during the event; and
  • Trash pickup during and breakdown after the event.
