Oxygen Deficiency Hazard Postings for Hall D Complex Facilities: Buildings 200, 203 and 204
Jan. 8, 2013
This announcement provides current Oxygen Deficiency Hazard (ODH) posting information for the following Hall D complex facilities:
Building 200, Tagger Service Building
Building 203, Hall D
Building 204, Hall D Tagger Hall
ODH postings went up on Dec. 18 at the entry points to Hall D, Building 203. Everyone entering Hall D must now comply with Jefferson Lab ODH requirements. Cryogenics are necessary to cool the Hall D solenoid magnet.)
Effective Dec. 12, preparations for cooling the Hall D solenoid magnet required implementing a Temporary Operational Safety Procedure (TOSP) for entering the Hall D Tagger Hall, Bldg. 204, and/or the Tagger Service Building, Bldg. 200.
While this work is underway, the ODH postings for these facilities will move intermittently between ODH-0 and ODH-1.
Please be aware of the changing ODH classifications of these areas.
Before entering these areas, read and follow all relevant postings and read and sign the applicable TOSP. This document, ENP-12-19365-TOSP, is posted at: https://www.jlab.org/div_dept/cio/mis/operational_safetty_procedure_form_19365.pdf
To acknowledge that you have read and understand the TOSP, send an email to Tim Whitlatch at email@example.com. This must be done BEFORE you enter buildings 200 or 204. (This meets the "signing" requirement.)
Until further notice, avoid Buildings 200 and 204 unless you need to perform work there.
