Performance Review Process
In the spirit of open communication, I wanted to take this opportunity to give you an update on the progress being made to improve the performance evaluation process. Currently the process is being reviewed by a panel of your peers. The panel is progressing well and in order to allow this process to work as efficiently and effectively as possible, it is necessary to adjust the timeline for this year's review period. The performance review cycle, which typically ends in May, will be extended through September 30. Historically, merit increases go into effect October 1 and the plan this year is to continue with this timeframe; pending budget approval. However, due to the extended review period, merit increases will be reflected in December 1 paychecks, retroactive to October 1.
Managers are expected to review and revise goals that are currently in place to account for the additional four months of this review cycle. Employees may continue to track their progress; however, no self assessments should be completed at this time. Additional information on the performance review process changes will follow in the coming months.
