Plan Now for the JAG Fall Festival on Nov. 1
The Jefferson Lab Activities Group will be hosting a Fall Festival and Picnic on Wednesday, Nov. 1, on the Residence Facility field. All Jefferson Lab staff, users and their families will be invited to the event, which will be filled with food, fun and prizes. This year, the event will feature two activities that will require advance planning by participants. Details are below.
Homebrew Beer Competition
Back by popular demand, Jefferson Lab Homebrewers are invited to enter the Iron Brew Competition to be held during the Festival. The beers will be judged by popular vote using a ticketing system. Homebrewers who wish to enter the competition must be prepared to bring at least 72 ounces in their preferred format; entries are not limited to any style or ingredient. Bring your best crowd pleaser and some way to keep it cold; tasting cups will be provided for the crowd’s sampling. To enter the contest, contact Daniel Moore at email@example.com and provide a description of the beers you plan to enter, including their style and anything else about them that would be interesting (e.g. special ingredients, process, etc.). A final determination on the number of different beers each brewer/brewing team may enter will depend on the number of participants.
Conjure up your creative spirits and enter the Trunk-or-Treat Contest. Decorate and enter a vehicle of your choice, whether it's a monster truck, spooky antique car or even your Jefferson Lab group's golf cart. Provide a ghostly game, creepy craft or spine-tingling activity for the kids (and adults). And don't forget: This is a great way to get rid of that extra Halloween candy! A special prize will be awarded to the winning individual or group.
