The JLab Severe Weather Team convened this morning to discuss a weather situation that could affect the Lab.
The National Weather Service has been paying close attention to a low-pressure system off the Florida-Georgia coast. It is disorganized at the moment but has a potential to evolve into a tropical storm or even a hurricane. Predictions — with a great deal of uncertainty — indicate that the system could be in our region in the early hours of Monday, Sept. 10th.
The Severe Weather Team will meet again tomorrow (Friday, Sept. 7) morning and reassess conditions. In the interim, given that the weekend is near, owners of materials and equipment stored outdoors that could become wind-borne should secure these things by the end of the day tomorrow.
