On Jan. 8, 2007 a subcontract laborer was injured while reorganizing shelving in the Test Lab. The subcontractor's hand was bruised by a shelving post that fell during disassembly. The subcontractor continued work shortly after the injury but visited a local clinic during lunch because of bruising and swelling. The subcontract laborer returned to work after treatment. The subcontractor received a safety briefing by the SOTR before work that included requirements for PPE. The accident is under investigation and the causal analysis and lessons learned will be distributed shortly.
