The next American Red Cross Blood Drive is scheduled for Friday, January 26th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the CEBAF Center F113. The Lab's goal is 50 units! The American Red Cross has issued an emergency appeal for blood donations as their blood inventory has dropped to dangerously low levels since the holiday season.
They are in EMERGENCY STATUS in Types O+, O-, A-, and B-, which means that there is less than a one day supply of the blood type.
They are in RESTRICTED STATUS in Types A+, B+, and AB-m which means that there is less than a three day supply of the blood type.
Also, for the past few blood drives, we have had several employees participate in the Double Red Cell donation process. The Red Cross will be bringing two of the Double Red machines for those employees who may be interested in this type of donation. Attached is a flyer on the process which will give you more information.
New and repeat donors are encouraged to attend. Walk-ins are welcome; however, making an appointment allows the Red Cross to schedule adequate staff for their visit. Volunteers are also needed to help with the blood drive. Please contact Johnie Banks at ext. 7539 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org to schedule an appointment or to volunteer.
