Fred Schwartz advanced to the helm of the Industrial Development Authority on Tuesday, following the resignation of chairman Bruce Ullman. Ullman, who stepped down last month because of demands from two new jobs, has spent the last two years redirecting the authority's efforts beyond issuing bonds to redevelopment. Ullman recently accepted a position with the Jefferson National Accelerator Laboratory, and became an associate in a local consulting firm. Also on Tuesday, IDA member Dennis McAlister resigned, though the reasons remain unclear. Both members sent resignations by e-mail.
