The Department of Energy's Jefferson Lab in Newport News, Va., is hosting the 2006 Virginia Regional Middle School Science Bowl on Saturday, March 11. Nine teams, representing middle schools from Tidewater/Hampton Roads and across the state are participating in this annual, academic competition. News media are invited to attend all or any part of the daylong event. Please contact one of the people listed below by 5 p.m. Friday, March 10 if you plan on attending any part of the tournament, or if your news agency would like to receive the results at the end of Saturday's competition.
Catch the excitement as several Tidewater/Hampton Roads middle schools join this fast-paced, academic competition for the first time.
For security purposes all visitors on March 11 must enter at Jefferson Lab's main entrance (Onnes Dr.). Everyone 16 and older is asked to carry a photo I.D., and security guards may perform parcel and vehicle inspections.

What: 2006 Virginia Regional Middle School Science Bowl
When: Saturday, March 11. Round robin competition runs from 9:30 - 11:45 a.m. The double elimination, semi-final and finalist rounds run from 1 - 3:30 p.m. Awards presentations will be made immediately after the final round.
