Media invited to Jefferson Lab prior to April 21 'Science is Cool' Open House and welcome day of event

News media representatives wishing to visit the Department of Energy's Jefferson Lab in the weeks leading up to the April 21, 2007, Open House may contact Jefferson Lab Public Affairs Manager Linda Ware or Debbie Magaldi to schedule a visit. Allow at least one full business-day's notice before desired arrival. If you would like to see the accelerator tunnel or the experimental halls, please request the status of the machine (accelerator) for your planned visit date.

News Media representatives are also invited to attend all or any part of the daylong "Science is Cool" Open House on Saturday, April 21. Media reps may arrive any time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. The Open House will end promptly at 4 p.m. Contact Ware or Magaldi for a Parking Pass and Parking Instructions no later than 5 p.m. Thursday, April 19. You will be required to show your press credentials and your Jefferson Lab Open House Parking Pass to the security guard at the entrance the day of the event.

Please bring your press credentials. Everyone on the premises 16 and older is asked to carry a photo I.D., and security guards may perform parcel and vehicle inspections. Jefferson Lab is a basic physics research facility managed and operated under contract for the U.S. Department of Energy's Office of Science by Jefferson Research Associates, LLC, a joint venture between the Southeastern Universities Research Association (SURA), a consortium of 61 universities spread across the southeast, and Computer Sciences Corporation Applied Technologies, LLC.
