Livestream EIC Project Launch on September 18

Members of the Jefferson Lab community are invited to join Jefferson Lab Director Stuart Henderson, Jefferson Lab Associate Director for Experimental Nuclear Physics Rolf Ent, representatives from the U.S. Department of Energy, elected officials and others to mark the start of a new journey in nuclear physics.

On Friday, September 18 at 10 a.m., the U.S. Department of Energy will hold a virtual ceremony to launch the project to build an Electron-Ion Collider at Brookhaven National Laboratory in Upton, New York. This new facility—to be constructed over the next decade by scientists from Brookhaven Lab, Jefferson Lab and institutions from throughout the U.S. and around the world—will explore the inner workings of the building blocks of matter and the strongest force in Nature.

The event will be livestreamed from Brookhaven’s Twitter account, which can be accessed here: https://twitter.com/BrookhavenLab
