Weekly Meeting Minutes - August 22, 2003

Attending: Ashot, Itaru, Aram, Raphael, Marianna, Dan, Yar, Eric, David L., Phillip Cole, Dave K., Eugene
Phone: Sam, Liping

Announcements:
Ashot: This past Monday we reached our goal set for the temporary "emergency" work status in the collaboration at Jlab. All 1800 modules of HYCAL now assembled and shelved in the EEL building; we also have done a great job assembling other parts of the hardware (veto, cables, power supplies, etc). Therefore, with the recommendation of the Steering Committee we are changing the work status to NORMAL mode.

Dave K: OSHA preliminary review is in and there were zero findings in either of the PrimEx areas (Test Lab and EEL building). Be careful anyway.

Discussion of beam test after DVCS. We need to put in a written request for the PrimEx beam test in October.

Engineering:
Dave K: HyCal transporter in progress, horizontal carriage assembled. Computer motion controls needed from Mark and/or Abdellah.
Foam insulation installed on frame, cooling plates & fans being fit.

HyCal:
Debate over Veto Counter design.

Liping: Beam position online detector done & ready to install. Software is being improved but ready to work now.

Eugene: Boards for E-Counters arrived, currently being tested. Most of the new electronics here, the last by Sept 20. Testing planned for first week of October.

Dan: Pair Spectrometer status unchanged.

Yar: LMS status unchanged. Bundle is at Romack being reworked and should be returned & tested next week.

Major Problems:
1) Readout PC Boards
2) HV Dividers: Need manpower. Discussion of bringing UKY or UVA technician on-site or hiring local temp electricians. See Chris Cravis for that option. Dave L. will get a cable map completed ASAP.

Schedule:
Nov: Readiness review on the 15th - cosmic test results must be shown.
Dec: Disassemble from Test Lab.
Jan: Install in Hall B.
