Report on the status of the dipole from BNL

On Jun 20 & 21, Ashot and I went a trip to BNL for the dipole business. We had very successful meetings with Phil and Al. An H type dipole, which has the dimension of 45 3/4" high, 82 1/2" wide and 36" long, with gap size 8 1/4", has been selected for us. This dipole is located in B1 beam line, with maximum radiation level 30 uR/h, which is ideally fits our needs. We also took looks at two types of air cooling power supplies. One of those types will be loaned to us along with the dipole magnet. Last Friday, Phil informed me that both T. Kirk and Derek had agreed to a 3 year loan for dipole and power supply with the understanding that the loan would likely be renewed. They already started the process of final identifying of the equipment and estimate of shipment cost. The draft of agreement from BNL will be expected very soon.

There are a few pictures we took for the dipole magnet and power supply shown as below.
