Everyone at Jefferson Lab should take time – at least annually – to review tornado awareness and response actions. This poster highlights the most critical aspects of tornado preparedness.
It is important for members of the Jefferson Lab community to understand the difference between a Tornado Watch and a Tornado Warning, and to know the appropriate actions to take for each.

This year Anthem presented a renewal for Jefferson Lab’s health insurance plan that included a substantial rate increase. The increase was based on Anthem’s underwriting formula, health insurance inflation, and the usage of the plan by Jefferson Lab employees and their covered dependents. Pharmacy costs continue to accelerate at a faster pace than other medical expenses. After reviewing the proposed rate increase and the impact that it would have on overall health insurance costs to employees enrolled in the plan as well as the increase in cost to the Lab, the decision was made to change the prescription pharmacy benefit to Anthem’s Essential Prescription Drug Formulary as of April 1, 2019. The change will bring overall savings to employees with limited di...

The Receiving section has the responsibility of processing every item that is purchased with DOE funds. When a postal or package carrier delivers packages, someone there must open the package, check the condition of the contents, compare the invoice/shipping document and the Purchase Order, then input updates to the lab’s financial records. On average, the Receiving section gets 1500 packages per month and each package can have multiple items in it. This receiving and documentation process must be done for every package delivered to our door in order for the vendor to be paid.
When you receive an email from the vendor or package carrier service that your package has arrived, it means that it was delivered to the Receiving section. From that point in time, our standard for getting that package to you is within 48 h...
