'Science Guy' features Jeff Labs
A Tuesday airing of the children's television show "Bill Nye the Science Guy" will spotlight Newport News' Jefferson Lab and Hampton University Professor Warren Buck.
The show was filmed at Jefferson Lab last fall and will air at 4 p.m. on WHRO, channel 15 locally. The atom will be the featured subject of the program. Jefferson Lab was chosen because of its research on the quark, the smallest part of the atom.
Local children who were working on a Jefferson Lab-sponsored project at the time of filming will also be featured on the program. The show is scheduled to air again on July 15 and Sept.17, in the same 4p.m. time slot.
