Oct. 16 TEDF Dedication Canceled; Staff & Users May Take Self-Directed Tours of Facility from 10 a.m. – noon that Day

Colleagues,

Due to the current lapse in federal funding and the continuing uncertainty regarding future federal funding, Jefferson Lab is canceling the public dedication of its Technology and Engineering Development Facility (TEDF) that had been scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 16 at 3 p.m.

We regret the inconvenience this may cause, but we believe this is the correct and responsible course of action.

While the dedication event has been canceled, the TEDF will be open for staff and users to take self-directed tours from 10 a.m. – noon on Wednesday, Oct. 16. There will be posters, displays and staff experts on hand to provide information, answer questions and guide you on your tour.

The TEDF is a wonderful facility and a strong expression of the nation’s support for basic scientific research. This state-of the-art facility will make it possible for the lab and the U.S. to remain in the forefront of superconducting radiofrequency (SRF), cryogenics and related engineering technologies.

I hope you will take advantage of the opportunity to tour to learn about this exciting, new facility.
