12 GeV Upgrade
The concrete shield house and support platform for the Hall C Super High Momentum Spectrometer are being outfitted with electrical, cryogenic and water services in anticipation of arrival of the first of the new superconducting magnets. All the new high-current power supplies have been tested using the magnets of the High Momentum Spectrometer as high-inductance loads. Construction of two of the magnets, the HB dipole and Q1 quadrupole, is now in the latter stages. The thermal shield and cryostat have been added to the Q1 magnet, and sensor and instrumentation work continues in preparation for the cryogenics control reservoir. Addition of the several dozen parts of the thermal shield is underway for the HB magnet, after which the cryostat can be attached. The first production coil for the SHMS dipole magnet is having its last layer wound, and the second production coil has reached the mid-point of its winding. The tooling is on order to fabricate the Q2 and Q3 magnets, with winding planned to begin in September.
Center for Theoretical and Computational Physics
A new paper presents a method for extracting one-to-two form factors from lattice QCD. This formalism is relevant for rare heavy meson decays, such as B0 → π K l+ l-, as well as meson photoproduction (π γ → π π). Our result, derived using relativistic field theory, describes systems with any number of two-particle channels and accommodates arbitrary partial waves.

No Smoking Allowed in Buildings
It has been brought to the attention of the Worker's Safety Committee that smoking has been occurring in buildings and non-designated areas across the site. If you choose to smoke, you may only do so in the designated smoking areas near buildings or beyond those areas. Smoking is not allowed inside buildings or in areas closer to buildings than designated smoking areas. If you bring in your cigarette for disposal, dress the cigarette properly before approaching the building to reduce the chance of fire hazard for building occupants.

ReadyTalk End-of-Life
ReadyTalk is an audio, video and web conferencing service that was offered by ESnet Collaboration Services (ECS) and will be discontinued by the lab's provider on Sept. 30. BlueJeans will become the primary option for audio and video conferencing. Like ReadyTalk, BlueJeans provides audio conferencing, H.323 video conferencing and web conferencing. Jefferson Lab will end support for ReadyTalk by Aug. 1.
To assist with an easy migration, there will be training sessions held on July 10 and July 23 at 2 p.m. in CEBAF Center room F113. ReadyTalk was mainly used for audio conferencing, therefore, audio conferencing will be the focus of these training sessions. There will be time at the end of each session for all questions regarding BlueJeans (H.323, web conferencing, etc.). Last Chance to Renew Your SmartCard
If you have a Jefferson Lab SmartCard, you must renew your SmartCard by visiting the IT Division Helpdesk before July 11. For security reasons, Jefferson Lab SmartCards expire every three years, which means they must be renewed to continue functioning. In addition, the CNI group is making other changes to the SmartCard system that will require all cards to be renewed (even if issued recently).
To avoid problems and delays, be sure to have your card renewed before July 11. Once the expiration date passes, the card will no longer work, and the user will not be able to log in to Jefferson Lab systems using the card. If you have any questions or concerns, contact the IT Division Helpdesk, x7155.

Department of Energy Sponsors Food Drive July 7-31
The Department of Energy is again participating in the “Feds Feed Families” food drive this year. At Jefferson Lab, the Thomas Jefferson Site Office (TJSO) will be collecting donations from its federal employees to benefit the Foodbank of the Virginia Peninsula. There is no expectation of Jefferson Lab employee participation in this program, although anyone wishing to contribute may do so. If interested, items most needed include: canned meats (fish, ham, chicken, beef stew, etc.), canned fruits and vegetables, complete meals (boxed meals, pasta and sauce, mac and cheese, etc.), boxed cereals, rice, granola bars, peanut butter and hygiene products (shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, soap, diapers, etc.). No glass containers. Marked donation boxes for non-perishable food items will be located in the CEBAF Center lobby, July 7-31. LabVIEW Lunch & Learn Offered
National Instruments is offering a free Lunch & Learn at Jefferson Lab to discuss new development software, professional training and technical support available as part of the lab’s Enterprise Agreement. The presentation will offer LabVIEW users training on how to build measurement and control applications in less time with comprehensive software and services; will discuss integration with existing legacy software and hardware; and will demonstrate how software users can increase proficiency with the included training and support. Upcoming Changes to the Requisition System
On Tuesday, July 15, Jefferson Lab's requisition system, Maximo, will be updated to include new functionality to improve ordering and processing of equipment at the laboratory. Two new questions will be added to the “Other Information” section for network-enabled and calibration equipment. Also, all Electronic Data Processing (EDP) equipment subject to EPEAT (Electronic Product Environmental Assessment Tool) requirements will now require EPEAT documentation to be attached to the requisition. JSA Initiatives Fund Program - Call for Proposals
JSA is soliciting proposals for Initiatives Fund support for the FY2015 program. An Initiatives Fund Evaluation Committee will review eligible proposals that meet the criteria. Members of the Jefferson Lab user community, Jefferson Lab researchers and staff, other individuals or groups who can make unique contributions to the lab's research, development, education and technology transfer missions may submit proposals.
