Jefferson Lab to Conduct Emergency Response Exercise on Aug. 9

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – Today, City of Newport News first responders and staff at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility will participate in an emergency response exercise.

The objective of the exercise is to provide a training opportunity for members of the lab community and for Newport News emergency responders. Local fire department personnel plan to participate in the exercise.

Public notification of this exercise is being made so lab neighbors and the public won’t be unnecessarily alarmed. The exercise will take place during standard business hours, and it will be completed before 5 p.m.
