Response Action:
- Make initial assessment of the situation.
- If warranted call 9-911 and report fire.
- Evacuate occupants.
- Report to assembly point
Access:
The main building has four doors to the outside. Each bedroom has a door to the outside.
Exposure:
The main building and the seven unit buildings are sufficiently close that a fire in one could spread to all. There are no other buildings in close proximity to the Residence Facility.
Cautions:
There is a fireplace in the main building. There is a fully equipped kitchen and a washer-dryer in the main building.
Occupancy:
There are seven unit buildings, each with four bedrooms. Each bedroom has a double bed
or a single bed. A staff of one person is available during normal working hours, (8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m.).
Construction:
The Residence Facility was built to residential construction standards. Framing and exterior siding are wood. The roofing is fiberglass shingles. The floors are carpeted.
Fire Protection:
The facility is equipped with a sprinkler system. Drapes and bedspreads are fire retardant.
Loss Potential:
Loss of the Residence Facility would eliminate CEBAF's ability to provide on site accommodations to graduate students and out of town visitors at reasonable rates.
NOTE: The Residence Facility is not government owned and not on government property.
