Thank You to JLab's Earth Day Volunteers!
Earth Day volunteers were able to hold clean up activities after one postponement due to inclement weather. On Wednesday, May 1st 14 volunteers ventured across the Jefferson Lab property to clean up a vast amount of litter strewn throughout trees, bushes, between buildings and in storm channels. The weather held out this time, sunshine and warmth lead to thirsty and tired volunteers. Thanks to the following individuals who helped out this year!

Prizes were awarded (thanks to the Jefferson Lab Activities Group who donated three wonderful Stars & Stripes hats) and the winners were:
- Mary Jo — largest litter item (a golf cart tarp)
- Carrie and Betty — most unusual
(a bunch of broken hockey sticks) - Kris — random drawing of the volunteers
The site-wide clean up was scheduled to coincide with Earth Day (April 22nd). Keep an eye out next spring for an Earth Day event.
