Environmental Management System (EMS) Upgrade
The Lab made more progress with our EMS implementation efforts in July, August, and September. In early August an internal audit team, joined by two EMS consultants, reviewed our EMS status. Although some corrective actions were identified, it was evident that our program has taken root. As well, over 700 Lab staff took the EMS Awareness Training in August.
Mary Erwin continues to lead the charge to get our program in final form as we continue to address the identified corrective actions. It is hoped that we will be informing the DOE Site Office this October that we are ready for them to perform their review. We are in the final stages of getting the EMS into place!!! Keep working safely by identifying and addressing all hazards to you, others, and the environment.
