--+--------+--------+--------------+-----+------+-------------------------
* We use the same address in the both PKG F1TDC that has the same slot
number.
* F1TDC has the new firmware now.
* A performance of F1TDC is dependent upon room temperature.
If the temperature is too high, we will meet the chip resolution lock
failed. It will be recovered when the temperature is going to be normal.
Therefore, if room temperature is fluctuated, the resolution of F1TDC that
we usually define in the CRL file and during the download, is not constant.
A normal resolution of F1TDC, which we can use, is a range of 112 - 118 ps.
And the recommended magic resolution by JLab DAQ group is 116 ps. Actually
it is 116.3 ps.
F1TDC entries without COMMENT in the above table are operated with the
full range of the resolution and were tested by Ed Jastrzembski (JLab DAQ
group). Shortly they are the best F1TDCs. I will use the recommended
resolution 116 ps for Qweak Experiment. Thus in principal, we can use F1TDCs
with NO 1-23, because the F1TDCs work OK for that resolution. But I want to
use the best F1TDCs because, I think, the temperature in the doghouse is
higher than the temperature of the DAQ test room (Cebaf Center). Ed told me
he will be ready to give more good F1TDCs soon (1 or 2 months later). Just
in case, I want to reserve at least three F1TDCs at the counting house or
the Qweak cage.
* We want to make an empty slot between near F1TDCs in one crate
in order to circulate a cooling air from a VME crate easily.
* PKG2-4 : Package 2 VME crate slot 4 (label as "PKG2-4" or "PKG2 SLOT 4"
on a VME module)
We keep on tracking "S/N" and SLOT number of each F1TDC
in order to maintain them easily.
* CHIP1 LOCK at 114/57 ps
- the 114 ps is the normal resolution for F1TDC (We use this mode for Qweak)
- the 57 ps is the high resolution for F1TDC (We don't use it for Qweak)
- This means "chip 1", (F1TDC has 8 F1 chips), is locked at the resolution
114 ps and the other chips (2-8) are locked at the resolution 112 ps.
Once the chip is locked at higher resolution (112 ps), it will be ok at
lower resolutions (114 ps, 116 ps, or 118 ps).
* NOT recommend to use
- Chip 3 has a worse resolution.
- If we set 112 ps, other chips have 112ps (we call one bin), but only chip 3
has 1.5 bin. Ed told me he had no idea about it. Thus we decided not to use
this F1TDC.
