Losing weight, eating well and getting exercise can be hard.

If you're looking to shed a few pounds a weight loss support group can be an invaluable resource. If you have ever tried to lose weight, you know that having emotional support and encouragement is important.

If you need some support to stay motivated and on track with your weight loss goals come join our weekly onsite weight loss support group.

Each week our group is joined by an outside weight loss expert guest that will share with us:

-healthy eating habits

-portion control

-online support

The group will meet each week at lunch time. Start date, place and exact time are pending until we know how many people are interested and will be attending the weekly group meetings.

If you are interested, contact Barbara Rice at x7238 for more details.

Is Your New Year's Resolution to Reduce Tension (At Least in Your Dog's Leash!)?

Come join the JLab Dog Training Club for their kick-off meeting for the new year! Marilyn Sanders, Certified Professional Dog Trainer, will be sharing some fun, effective methods to teach your dog not to pull on his leash. This meeting will be held in the lobby of the Support Service Center on Monday, February 9th at 7:00 pm. After Ms. Sanders' presentation, we'll be going over some rules for dog club participation so--no dogs at this first meeting, please!

Classes (with dogs!) for the 2015 Canine Good Citizen/Therapy Dog International session will begin on the following Tuesday, February 17th at 7:00 pm in the Support Services Center Lobby. These classes, that will be held each Tuesday from now through May, are open to all JLab staff, users and their family members. There is no charge for the classes. At the end of the session the handlers and dogs will be tested to become Therapy Dog teams. For more information on what is required for the test, watch this JLab Dog Training Club video
