Radiological Training Information
Radiation Worker I (RW-I) Training Options
- Classroom Training Course
Our classroom Radiation Worker course is offered once per calendar quarter on the first Wednesday of the first month of the quarter. The course lasts 8 hours. This is the recommended training method if you have never had any radiological training. You must sign up in advance for this course using the TotalLMS database or by calling Bruce Ullman at ext. 7170. For special training requests, call Keith Welch at ext. 7212. - Web-based Interactive Training Course
The web-based training course can be taken on any computer (anywhere) with internet access. You'll need Flash Player, version 6.0 or higher. The runtime for the entire course is about 120 minutes (minimum). This course can be substituted for the classroom training, and we recommend this course if you have had radiological training in the past. This is a self-paced course, and you do not have to do the entire course at one time. When you've finished the review, you can take the final test at the User/International Liaison Office (CEBAF Center), or the Radcon field office (trailer 52B) anytime during normal business hours. TAKE THE COURSE - Text-based Radiation Worker Study Guide
This is a text-only version on the classroom study guide. If the interactive version of the course is not feasible for you, you may get a hard copy of the study guide at the User Liaison office or from Radcon, or access it on the web Here. This material is not as up to date as the interactive version. - Practical-factors Exercise
The first time you take Radworker training you must participate in a practicum. Also, persons who last took Radworker-I training prior to August of 2000 are required to participate. On subsequent retraining events, the practical exercise is not required unless there has been an extended lapse in your training qualification or major changes to the Radcon program have occurred since your last qualification. To schedule the exercise, contact Zach Edwards at ext. 7147 or Becky Mosbrucker at ext. 7236.
This page is under constant revision. If you do not have the browser capabilities identified above or have other Radcon training needs, contact Keith Welch, 757-269-7212.
