The Software Working Group of the EIC User Group is launching a community-wide effort on next-generation simulations. Project eAST (eA simulation toolkit) will be led by Makoto Asai (SLAC), Geant4 project leader and deep technical expert for more than twenty years, and will build on the work done in existing detector simulations for the EIC. To ease leveraging new and rapidly evolving computing technologies, we will implement a common and integrated approach for fast and full detector simulations in Geant4 with a plug and play modular approach. An overview of the project and the proposal with comments by the community is available on: https://indico.bnl.gov/event/11379/

In the EIC Software meeting, the Software Working Group will give an update on the priorities and work plan for Project eAST. Please join the meeting if you are interested in learning more about the common effort on next-generation simulations for the EIC or would like to get actively involved in the project.
