FROM WASHINGTON, D.C.

  • Take I-95 South toward Richmond.
  • Merge onto I-295 South near Richmond to I-64 East.
  • Follow I-64 East to Newport News.
  • Take exit 255A onto Jefferson Avenue south (Route 143).
  • In approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Lawrence Drive, the main entrance to Jefferson Lab.
  • Make the next right onto Kelvin Drive. CEBAF Center (Building 12), the facility’s main administrative building, is on the left.

FROM NORFOLK / VIRGINIA BEACH

  • Take I-64 West toward Richmond.
  • Take exit 255A onto Jefferson Avenue south (Route 143).
  • Once on Jefferson Avenue, in approximately 1 mile, turn left onto Lawrence Drive, the main entrance to Jefferson Lab.
  • Make the next right onto Kelvin Drive. CEBAF Center (Building 12), the facility’s main administrative building, is on the left.

FROM OYSTER POINT ROAD / VICTORY BOULEVARD

  • From I-64, take exit 256A onto Oyster Point Road.
  • Continue on Oyster Point Road.
  • Turn left onto Innovation Parkway.
  • Turn right onto Hogan Drive/Tech Center Parkway.
  • Turn left onto Rattley Road.
  • Continue on Hadron Drive.
  • Turn right onto Kelvin Drive. Parking and CEBAF Center (Building 12), the facility’s main administrative building, is on the right. 

VISITOR PARKING

When entering from Jefferson Avenue, a small Visitor Parking lot is available immediately on the left after turning onto Kelvin Drive. If this parking area is full, additional parking is available in the main staff parking lot behind CEBAF Center. Look for signs directing you to CEBAF Center (Building 12) and walk to the main entrance which faces the traffic circle that surrounds the flags (see the banner image at the top of this page).

BUILDING ACCESS

Access to buildings on campus are by Jefferson Lab identification card key or under escort. Visitors without a key card must first sign in at the Welcome Desk, located in the front atrium of CEBAF Center (building 12) and connect with their escort before proceeding to their destination. If you are arriving for a tour, please let security know at the front desk which tour group you are with.
