Theory Seminar - Srijit Paul

On Monday, April 29, at 1 p.m., Srijit Paul of the University of Maryland will present "Precision Physics Using Multihadrons on the Lattice" via Zoom.

Abstract: Computing low-energy hadronic observables using gauge ensembles simulated at the physical pion mass poses a new challenge of dealing with excited state contributions. Using multihadron spectroscopy to reconstruct the observable of interest is a promising approach to quantify and distill the excited-state contributions. We present the efficacy of the pion-pion spectroscopy in the reduction of uncertainty to the lowest-order contribution of the hadronic vacuum polarization of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. Potential extensions to other nucleon observables using nucleon-pion spectroscopy will be discussed.
