Restricted Parking Around Buildings 55, 58, 59 & 90 Beginning Monday, Oct. 8

Posted Oct. 4, 2012

The re-roofing of the Test Lab, Building 58, is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 8, 2012. Part of the project will involve spraying a foam and silicon coating material on the roof.

Both materials easily drift and can get deposited on vehicles. To prevent this from happening, parking areas adjacent to the area being worked on (the Test Lab, Building 59, EEL/Bldg. 90, and the TED/Bldg. 55) will intermittently be closed as the project progresses. This work is weather dependent, but should be completed by the end of November.

Parking areas around the impacted areas will be closed temporarily to prevent overspray on vehicles. All persons will need to park in alternative parking areas during these periods. Spraying won't take place on rainy days. Vehicles traveling down adjacent roads and pedestrians shouldn't be affected.

Also on Monday a stair tower will be erected in the space north of Building 59 and east of the Test Lab to access the Test Lab roof. This tower will eliminate the motorcycle parking in that area and may cause some restrictions for the Building 59.

This work is posted on the Facilities Management and Logistics Utilities Outage/Work Management System webpage: https://cc.jlab.org/cgi-bin/infrastructure/Outage/OutageView?ident=3
