  • Two graduate students and two postdoctoral research scientists are awarded fellowships to advance the science of a proposed electron-ion collider.

    NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Electron-Ion Collider Center at the Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (EIC Center at Jefferson Lab) has announced the winners of four fellowships to pursue research related to a proposed electron-ion collider over the next year.

  • Alessandro Baroni was awarded the 2017 JSA Thesis Prize for studying nuclear processes that contribute to scientists’ understanding of neutrinos.

    NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Alessandro Baroni is helping demystify one of the most mysterious particles. His work is contributing to our understanding of neutrinos, and it has earned him the 2017 Jefferson Science Associates Thesis Prize for work performed on a thesis related to research at the Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility.

    NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Science Education department at the Department of Energy's Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility invites young STEM enthusiasts to a free event to explore the science of the very hot and the very cold.

  • Washington, DC – Jefferson Sciences Associates announced today the award of eight graduate fellowships. The doctoral students will use the fellowships to support their advanced studies at their universities and conduct research at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) – a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear physics laboratory managed and operated by JSA, a joint venture between SURA and PAE.
