NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility will conduct the monthly test of its tornado warning siren at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, April 3. Depending on weather conditions at the time of the test, the siren could be heard by anyone within a 1.5-mile radius of the lab.
The test will be carried out over a period that could last up to three minutes. The test will be of the wavering tone (also called high-low-high or 10-4-10).

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. -- The U.S. Department of Energy's Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility, or Jefferson Lab, is currently accepting applications for its science enrichment program for fifth-, sixth- and eighth-grade teachers of science.
The after-school program is designed to increase teachers' knowledge of the physical sciences and to strengthen their teaching skills. It will run from September 2015 through May 2016 and is called the Jefferson Lab Science Activities for Teachers program, or JSAT.

NEWPORT NEWS, VA. – In conjunction with the Virginia Science Festival, Jefferson Lab is holding two Physics Fest events – one on October 8 and another on October 20. These events will also kick off the Jefferson Lab Physics Fest calendar for the 2015-16 academic year: 26 such events that will take place between October 2015 and May 2016.
