  • NEWPORT NEWS, Va. –  The Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility will conduct the monthly test of its tornado warning siren at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 4. Depending on weather conditions at the time of the test, the siren could be heard by anyone within a 1.5-mile radius of the lab.

    The test will be carried out over a period that could last up to three minutes. The test will be of the wavering tone (also called high-low-high or 10-4-10).

  • WASHINGTON, DC – Today, the Nuclear Science Advisory Committee, or NSAC, publicly released “Reaching for the Horizon, The 2015 Long Range Plan for Nuclear Science.” The new plan was unanimously accepted by NSAC, a committee composed of eminent scientists who have been tasked by DOE and the National Science Foundation (NSF) to provide recommendations on future research in the field.

  • Section of Kelvin Dr. Closes at 7 a.m., Dec. 7; Associated Sidewalks Close on Dec. 5

    Sections of Kelvin Drive between the main CEBAF Center parking lot and the visitor parking lot access points will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 7. This section of road on the front (south side) of CEBAF Center will be closed for a few weeks while the subcontractor replaces the chilled-water line between the CEBAF Center Data Center and the TED Building.

    The visitor parking lot will be accessible only from Lawrence Drive during this work.
