Members of the media and distinguished guests are invited to an exclusive preview of select Jefferson Lab Open House exhibits at event highlighting technology transfer.

  • Precision measurement of the proton’s weak charge narrows the search for new physics.

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – A new result from the Q-weak experiment at the Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility provides a precision test of the weak force, one of four fundamental forces in nature. This result, published recently in Nature, also constrains possibilities for new particles and forces beyond our present knowledge.

  • Two graduate students and two postdoctoral research scientists are awarded fellowships to advance the science of a proposed electron-ion collider.

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Electron-Ion Collider Center at the Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (EIC Center at Jefferson Lab) has announced the winners of four fellowships to pursue research related to a proposed electron-ion collider over the next year.

  • Alessandro Baroni was awarded the 2017 JSA Thesis Prize for studying nuclear processes that contribute to scientists’ understanding of neutrinos.

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – Alessandro Baroni is helping demystify one of the most mysterious particles. His work is contributing to our understanding of neutrinos, and it has earned him the 2017 Jefferson Science Associates Thesis Prize for work performed on a thesis related to research at the Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility.

  • Stop the summer science brain drain in your kids: Register for an exploration of the science of hot and cold on July 12!

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The Science Education department at the Department of Energy's Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility invites young STEM enthusiasts to a free event to explore the science of the very hot and the very cold.

  • Washington, DC – Jefferson Sciences Associates announced today the award of eight graduate fellowships. The doctoral students will use the fellowships to support their advanced studies at their universities and conduct research at the Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility (Jefferson Lab) – a U.S. Department of Energy nuclear physics laboratory managed and operated by JSA, a joint venture between SURA and PAE.

The 2018-2019 JSA/Jefferson Lab graduate fellowship recipients include:

  • Team Folder

This folder contains sub-folders related to the management and operation of the group and is restricted to Magnet Group members.

    SGROUP Drive Path name: M:\JLab_Magnet_Group

    Design Tools

This folder contains material property information and design tools developed by the Magnet Group. It is presently restricted to Magnet Group members.

  • Jefferson Laboratory benefits from organizing and centralizing sufficient superconducting and resistive magnet expertise to support existing and future magnets at the lab. The Magnet Group is a Technical Support Group within the Experimental Nuclear Physics Division which fulfills this role.

  • Registration is now open for Jefferson Lab’s annual summer science camp for deaf and hard-of-hearing youth and siblings, which offers explorations in science through lessons held via American Sign Language and voice/sign language.

  • Discover Jefferson Lab: Exploring the Nature of Matter at its biennial Open House event on May 19.

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The U.S. Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator will hold an open house for the public 9 a.m.–3 p.m. on Saturday, May 19.
