Title: Determination of the Argon spectral function from (e,e'p) data

Abstract: I will outline the conceptual framework supporting the interpretation of the 40Ar(e,e'p) cross sections--recently measured at Jefferson Lab by the E12-14-012 Collaboration---in terms of the spectral functions describing the energy and momentum distribution of protons in the target nucleus. The key underlying assumptions and their validity in the kinematical setup of the Jefferson Lab experiment will be discussed, and the results of the analysis will be illustrated highlighting their relevance for ongoing and future neutrino oscillation programs.
