In the Software & Computing Round Table on Tuesday, January 12, at 11:00 a.m. (EST), we will look at the software communities in High Energy Physics (HEP) and Nuclear Physics (NP). We will first introduce our new partner, the HEP Software Foundation (HSF). The HSF facilitates cooperation and common efforts in HEP Software & Computing internationally and will bring the perspective from the LHC and other HEP experiments, as well as many HEP institutions into the Software & Computing Round Table. Graeme Stewart (CERN) will give an overview about the work by the HSF. Eduardo Rodrigues (University of Liverpool) and Sudhir Malik (University of Puerto Rico-Mayaguez) will cover in more detail the HSF activities on Python in HEP and training. After that, we will discuss how to strengthen the relationship between the HEP and NP software communities. The detailed agenda and connection details are available on: https://indico.jlab.org/event/420/
