NEWPORT NEWS, VA – The academic testing season is now underway, and students in the Commonwealth are hard at work preparing for the annual Virginia Standards of Learning exams. From now until late May, thousands of Virginia students are expected to visit the science education portion of the Department of Energy’s Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility website to practice for their upcoming SOLs.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Jefferson Science Associates, LLC, (JSA) has announced a $500,000 investment in the future of science through its JSA Initiatives Fund Program. This year's awards, totaling over $1 million when combined with matching funds, will support 30 projects proposed by staff and scientific users at the U.S. Department of Energy's Thomas Jefferson National Accelerator Facility.

Injector & Front-End Test
-Injector tests during the past week have been fairly successful. We have delivered good beam to WBS 3 for their evaluation of the RF control system, and to WBS 5 for tests of the beam position monitors. Improvements to the control software have brought us to the point where setting up a good 5-MeV beam is (almost) routine. (C. Sinclair)
