  • An open letter to the Jefferson Lab community from the food services vendor, eLITE

    Dear Guests:
    We have had the pleasure of serving you for almost an entire month. Wow! It has been a wonderful transition for us, and hopefully for you, as well. Our goal is to continue providing an exceptional dining experience, at an “eLITE” standard of service!

  • Members of the Jefferson Lab community are invited to attend the AVS (American Vacuum Society) Mid-Atlantic Regional Chapter meeting and associated events taking place on Wednesday, April 19 in CEBAF Center.

    A vendor fair, being held in conjunction with the meeting will begin at noon in the CEBAF Center lobby. Vacuum equipment vendors will be available starting at noon; and the vendor fair and student poster session will take place concurrently in the CEBAF Center lobby from 4-6 p.m. The dinner meeting will begin at 6 p.m.

  • Tornadoes can occur year round in eastern Virginia; they can develop in association with severe weather fronts, seasonal temperature swings, and even in conjunction with hurricanes, and can strike with little warning. Therefore it is critical to maintain a high level of tornado preparedness.

    Everyone at Jefferson Lab should take time – at least annually – to review tornado awareness and response actions. A new poster highlights the most critical aspects of tornado preparedness.

  • Wednesday, Jan. 18 at 5:30 p.m. JLab will test its Public Address System

    On Wednesday, January 18, Emergency Management Team staff will conduct the recurring test of Jefferson Lab’s Public Address (PA) System – the live audible announcement feature – available through the lab’s Cisco phones.

    This operational test of the system occurs every other month at 5:30 p.m. – usually on the third Wednesday of the month. No actions are required or expected from members of the lab community with this test.

  • All members of the Jefferson Lab community are invited to attend the 2017 Summer Interns Poster Session planned for Friday, Aug. 4, from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the CEBAF Center lobby.

    More than two dozen interns – participants from this year's Department of Energy Science Undergraduate Laboratory Internships (SULI) program, and the Research Experiences for Undergraduates (REU) program will be presenting the posters they developed based on their work or research projects.

  • The Tech Center developer, W.M. Jordan, is planning a groundbreaking ceremony on Aug. 24 for the first building that will become part of the Tech Center’s research park. Building 1 will be built on the non-Jefferson Lab land along Hogan Drive that runs between the Support Service Center (Building 28) and Rattley Road. Land clearing work is underway east of Rutherford Road (parking lot/road between CEBAF Center and the SSC) for the parking lot which will be shared by the SSC and the new research park building.

  • The next American Red Cross Blood Drive is taking place at Jefferson Lab on Friday, October 13, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in CEBAF Center, Room F113.

    New and repeat donors are encouraged to attend. Walk-ins are welcome.   All participation is appreciated.

  • The Jefferson Lab Technical Stockroom, located in Building 90, is currently closed for its annual inventory. The Stockroom will re-open at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 19.

    Questions may be directed to Don Brown, material and stock specialist, or Christian Whalen, property management manager.

  • All Jefferson Lab staff and visiting scientists, 18 years of age and older, may use the Fitness Center located in Room 2558 in the Technology and Engineering Development building, Bldg. 55. It is open for use seven days a week from 6 a.m. – 8 p.m.

    The room features equipment for cardio and strength training and has equipment to play exercise videos. Cardio equipment includes a treadmill, two elliptical machines, a stationary bike and a rowing machine. Strength equipment includes a functional trainer, shoulder press, leg extension/leg curl machine and dumbbells.

  • The Jefferson Lab community mourns the passing of Dr. Larry Phillips (H. Lawrence Phillips), who has held a Senior Accelerator Physicist position at Jefferson Lab since 1986. He passed away on Sept. 30, 2017.
