- Context and objectives of the proposed research, including the benefits to the hadronic physics programs at US and Japanese facilities;
- Status of the collaboration with the Japanese partners - beginning or established collaboration, previous results;
- Itinerary of the visit, including institutions visited, hosts and collaborators, duration of visits.

The typical length of a supported visit is expected to be 2-3 weeks. However, applications for travel support for longer visits will also be considered.

After completion of the supported travel, participants will be required to submit a brief report (~2 pages) summarizing the accomplishments of the scientific exchange.

The program is not intended to support conference attendance by US scientists in Japan and cannot pay for registration fees or per-diem during conferences. Combining a conference with a collaborative research visit in a single trip is acceptable; however, the merits of the proposal will be judged solely on the basis of the proposed research visit.

The program is not intended to support US scientists taking shifts during experiments at Japanese user facilities.
