PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Professional development refers to the process of improving and enhancing one’s skills, knowledge, and abilities related to their profession or career. It is crucial and benefit to the lab when we engage in professional development opportunities with employees. At the lab we offer several resources to support employee’s development including, the Job-Related Training (JRTs) which support employees pursing skills needed on the job, learning a new skill, certifications, and resources to maintain qualifications. Additional resources include the Education Reimbursement Program, which supports employees pursing a degree from an accredited institution. Review the information below to learn more.
JOB RELATED TRAINING REQUESTS (JRT)
Are you looking to attend a training, workshop or conference to enhance your skills or to maintain a certification? If so, you are in the right place.
Jefferson Lab is dedicated supporting employees’ growth and development along with providing a means to obtain/retain certifications that are required for specific jobs that are not offered internally.
Step 1: If you are looking to seek any type of training, certification, attend a conference/workshop, etc. you are required to submit a Job Related Training Request and get approval before making any arrangements or registering as an attendee.
Step 2: Additionally, if there is any travel involved, you will also need to complete a Travel Authorization Form (TA) in addition to the JRT. Both the JRT & TA must have all signatures approved prior to taking any action to secure your spot or make travel arrangement.
