Simulations and Validation of Dose Distribution in Polymers

PUFFIn (Penelope User Friendly Fast Interface) is a Monte Carlo radiation transport program to simulate and map electron and photon dose in materials. This interface can create 2D and 3D maps which will help visual dose distribution in various materials, including medical products, polymers, etc. This tool is free and only requires a...

  • Jefferson Science Associates (JSA) is seeking candidates for THREE research assistantships for minority or female undergraduate students to work on projects that are part of the Lab's research program or directly related to the scientific or engineering aspects of the research program. JSA will provide funds to support the students at the University during the 2024-2025 academic year. This project is supported by the JSA Initiatives Fund Program, a commitment from the JSA owners and SURA.

  • “Triz” Behind the Trees Helps Fuel Seryi’s Creative Pursuit

From a very young age, Andrei Seryi had a penchant for thinking differently.

At three years old, he taught himself how to read – upside down – as his grandmother read him children’s stories.

This workshop will focus on the continuing development of the scientific case for a 22 GeV upgrade to CEBAF made possible by recent novel advances in accelerator technology. CEBAF’s envisioned capabilities, at the highest luminosities, will enable exciting opportunities that give scientists the full suite of tools necessary to comprehensively understand how QCD builds hadronic matter in the valence region. Through this workshop, JLab and its user community will continue to build the science case with descriptions and concrete projections for experiments that would become possible with an...
