PA's primary responsibility is to prove to JSA and the Government that the Lab is meeting contractual obligations, whether H.50 elements or otherwise. Secondary responsibilities include performance improvement.
Jefferson Laboratory benefits from organizing and centralizing sufficient superconducting, resistive, and permanent magnet expertise. The groups missions are to support operation of existing and to design future magnets in support of the laboratories main mission, Experimental Nuclear Physics. The Magnet Group is a Technical Support Group within the Experimental Nuclear Physics Division.
