    12 GeV Upgrade
Late last month, the new spectrometer in Hall C was rotated to its maximum angle relative to the electron beam for the first time. This is a triumph for those who designed, surveyed and installed the Super High Momentum Spectrometer, since it must come very close to the curved wall of Hall C. After Jefferson Lab staff removed or relocated a final few items from the wall, the SHMS was rotated to a scattering angle of 40.2 degrees. The design specification calls for reaching at least 40 degrees.

    12 GeV Upgrade
12 GeV Project installation work in Hall B is increasing in many areas. In addition to welding on the Torus magnet, electrical and electronic work on the power supplies and racks has ramped up. Hall C continues testing and measurements of the Horizontal Bend magnet and power supply, along with preparations for the arrival of additional superconducting magnets in 2016.

    12 GeV Upgrade
The voltage-tracking regulators for the extraction YA’s are operational, and control screens have been implemented. This completes the scope for the 12 GeV Project power systems. The scope for the 12 GeV Project safety systems has also been completed. The magnets for the fast-feedback system for the Hall D beamline have been installed, and the first of the nano-Amp beam position monitors for the Hall D beamline has been installed.

    12 GeV Upgrade
Work on the voltage-tracking regulators for the extraction YA’s remains on hold, awaiting restoration of power to the service building. The current transducer for the Hall D leg of the beam envelope limit system has been received. The magnets for the fast-feedback system for the Hall D beamline have been completed. The cavities for the nanoAmp beam position monitor system for the Hall D beamline are being welded and will then be sent out for plating.
