Veteran human resources manager, party emcee overseeing the newly formed Human Resources Division Partner (HRDP) group, Immigration and HR Outreach
Senior Human Resources Manager and weekend party DJ Ryan Wood is eager to beat the drums about what he thinks is Jefferson Lab’s most prized commodity: its people.
“Our employees are the key to what the lab is doing,” Wood unequivocally states. “We have a staff of approximately 920 employees. We also provide support, as-needed, to our foreign national user community.
The DEIA program strategy at Jefferson Lab is essential to the growth, performance and future of our world class research facility. Our DEIA strategy acknowledges the unique perspectives, experiences, and talents of all individuals to promote innovation and collaboration.
Jefferson Lab is committed to promoting a diverse, equitable, inclusive and accessible workplace for all employees and scientific users. We believe in fostering a psychologically safe culture in which everyone is respected and empowered to be their authentic self. We aim to build a sustainable workforce to promote innovation by attracting and retaining a diverse group of people to the lab and supporting their ongoing development.
JLab Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Accessibility (DEIA) Council
The DEIA Council is chartered, and its members appointed, by the Director of the Laboratory. It is the primary body responsible for advising the Director and senior leadership on subjects related to Diversity and Inclusion.
To address these goals, the Council will seek ways to maximize the creativity, communication, & collaboration among diverse Lab contributors; with particular attention to recruiting, retaining, and developing STEM women and minorities throughout the Laboratory.
