- Virginia, Maryland teams prepare for Regional Middle School Science Bowl

The Department of Energy's Jefferson Lab, in Newport News, Va., hosts the Virginia/Maryland Regional Middle School Science Bowl tomorrow (Saturday, March 5).
A dozen schools have registered teams for the event, according to Jan Tyler, Science Education program manager. This is JLab's second year hosting the Middle School Science Bowl.

February 7, 2005- The Department of Energy's Jefferson Lab is holding two public events during February. The events honor both Black History Month and 2005: World Year of Physics.
The first event "From Slave to Scientist: A Dramatization of the Life of George Washington Carver" takes place Tuesday, Feb. 8, in the CEBAF Center Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m.

Kristine Larsen, professor of astronomy and physics from Central Connecticut State University, will discuss the astronomy of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth at Jefferson Lab's first Fall 2004 Science Series event. The presentation will begin at 7 p.m. in the CEBAF Center auditorium on Monday, Oct. 4.
